SUMMARY:
This Knowledge Base Solution provides timely information about the JRE requirements for Fathom 2.0 running on an IBM AIX platform.
EXPLANATION:
In-house testing indicates that the JRE Version 1.3.1 for AIX does not have the fixes needed for Fathom Version 2.0. The JRE Version 1.3.1 was distributed in December of 2001.
The fixes needed for Fathom Version 2.0 were first introduced on JRE Version 1.3.0 from January/February of 2002. Progress Development has tested Fathom Version 2.0 with the newest JRE Version 1.3.0.
In order to retrieve the current JRE version from your JRE installed in your system, just execute the following command:
Java -fullversion
As of this writing (June 2002), this command executed against the latest JRE Version 1.3.0 produced the output:
J2RE 1.3.0 IBM build ca130-20020504
Performance and stability problems have been reported from customers running with the incorrect JRE version.
