Kbase 22077: Unable to Start Up Databases from Explorer 9.x on Win 2000
Autor   Progress Software Corporation - Progress
Acesso   Público
Publicação   13/06/2002
SUMMARY:

Databases set to autostart in Progress Explorer on Windows 2000 systems with NTFS drives do not start. Errors are posted in Explorer, AdminServer log and database logs.

-- Java error message from Explorer Tool 9.x:

JUNMsg023 Startup of database {0} failed - file not found (JUNMsg023)

-- Java error message in AdminServer log file:

ADMMsg027 Startup of configuration {0} failed due to missing file: {1}

-- Error in database log file:

Cannot find or open file ((path to database\database name, errno = 32. (43)

SOLUTION:

Check the permissions of the drive where Progress databases are installed. By default, Windows 2000 NTFS drives are set to allow everyone Full Control / Full Access. If the drive permissions were altered, then the database files can not be accessed through Progress Explorer (although they will start up via proenv).
