SUMMARY:

This Solution applies to the Version 9 Progress Explorer.

In an "English" Windows operating system with German default locale setting, all messages in the Progress Explorer are in German. In this situation, if you later decide to change the default locale back to English, the messages in the Progress Explorer still appear in German.

EXPLANATION:

Progress has been installed with German default locale and so, had been "marked" by installer.

Progress Explorer messages are translated to German, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Chinese.

In a case where the default locale during installation matches one of these 5 supported languages, and you change the default locale (to English), Progress Explorer messages remain unchanged.

SOLUTION:

1) Manually edit %DLC%/installd.ini

2) Search for the string "defaultLanguage=German" if you installed
Progress initially with German as a default system locale.

3) Change this to "defaultLanguage=English - International"
(or American) and commit this change.

Now messages in the Progress Explorer will be in English.
