SUMMARY:
During an install on a UNIX machine, the message "Execute permission denied" might appear while trying to run proinst.
Even though logged in as root, the CD properly mounted according to the install instructions, and the contents of the CD appearing to be intact, the install will not proceed.
EXPLANATION:
The CD may be dirty.
SOLUTION:
Remove the CD and wipe it clean. A smudge on the surface of the CD can bring about this installation error. For more information about failed CD installations, see Progress Solution 17433.
