SUMMARY:
The Kbase details where to get JDK 1.3.0 for AIX with required PTF for Progress 9.1D.
EXPLANATION:
With release of Progress 9.1D, we no longer provide JDK or JRE for AIX platform, the on-line Documentation did not mention the JDK version required for AIX. But following release notes provide more information:
"As of 9.1D the JVM must be available on your system before installing
Progress. The version of JVM that will be noted for comparison in the
install is 1.3.0. The version of JVM required is actually 1.3.0
plus PTF9."
SOLUTION:
Go to the following URL to get the JDK, and information on how to download the PTFs:
https://www6.software.ibm.com/dl/dka/dka-p
Once you get to the actual download page, you will see a section towards the bottom called "SDK 1.3.0 Fixes", with a link to a page describing how you can get the PTF's for the Java Development Kit.
For testing purpose, development have already downloaded a subset of the JDK (not all components) - it is stored in a tar file which you can extract and use to install from if you wish:
/tools/aix/java/INSTALL_KITS/1.3.0/Java130_rte.tar
Go to the above link for the full download though.
If you want to apply the PTF's from the set they have
already downloaded, they can be installed from:
/tools/aix/kits/jdk130-ptfs
