Kbase 22046: Core Dump When Viewing Release Notes After Linux Install

SUMMARY:

If you use a standard cdrom mount command, the option presented at the end of the install to view the Release Notes will cause a core dump if selected. This issue occurs on Linux only.

EXPLANATION:

If you use a standard mount command (for example, mount /mnt/cdrom) the option presented at the end of the install to view the release notes will cause a core dump if selected. This happens regardless of products installed or type of installation. The install is not damaged as a result of the core dump.

SOLUTION:

When installing 9.1D on the Linux platform, use the following mount command to mount the CD:

mount -o map=o /mnt/cdrom

This mount command will avoid the problem and allow viewing of the Release Notes.
