SUMMARY:
This Solution applies to Progress 9.1C on HP-UX 11. When attempting to start AdminServer, the following errors are received:
Progress Version 9.1C as of Wed Jun 6 22:43:05 EDT 2001
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Can't shl_load() a library containing Thread Local Storage:
/ul
/usr/lib/dld.sl: Exec format error
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Unable to load ZIP library: /usr/wsrt/jre/lib/PA_RISC/libzip.sl
EXPLANATION:
Progress Version 9.1C ships JRE 1.3 while Version 9.1A ships with JRE 1.1.7. The 1.3 JVM cannot load the shared library libzip.sl used by 1.1.7 JVM.
SOLUTION:
Take a look at the timestamp of the problematic libzip.sl to verify that it is from a 9.1A installation.
If 9.1C is going to be installed at the same location as 9.1A, make sure 9.1A was completely removed before 9.1C is installed.
