SUMMARY:
When you migrate from Progress Version 7.3 to Progress Version 9.1C, and find that the code you are currently running has a problem with certain key functions, check the [Startup] section of the progress.ini file.
EXPLANATION:
Migrating from version 7 to version 9 with V6Display=yes set in the
[Startup] section of the progress.ini file, allows Progress version 7
and greater to run under version 6 rules. The code being run in
version 7 was version 6 code. This code may also require certain key functions based on the version 6 rules. The V6 key functions need to be set separately.
NOTE: The V6Display option is intended for use with applications, not with the Progress Application Development Environment (ADE).
SOLUTION:
With V6Display=yes set in the progress.ini file and if the running code also requires version 6 specific key functions, they must be set separately.
In the [WinChar Startup] section of the progress.ini file
change to V6Keys=yes and V6FKeys=yes, the default being no. This will
make use of the set of key bindings that are Version 6 compatible.
