Kbase 21980: Error: "Unknown File Error Code" During Progress Install

SUMMARY:
On a Linux machine running RedHat 7.2, the following installation error can occur if resident Progress products are running and an attempt is made to install additional Progress products.
"Unknown File Error Code"
The error occurs as files are being copied to the directory where the previous products were installed.
EXPLANATION:
The error indicates that installation was performed while previously installed Progress executables were in use. Whenever Progress or WebSpeed are running, executables that need to be updated during an install are in use. When the install attempts to update these active executables, this brings about the failure.
SOLUTION:
Shut down all Progress processes and rerun the install.
