SUMMARY:
When testing an ODBC connection, you might see the following error:
Error: Failed to create Progressnls handler. (8933)
This error is only generated when the database broker is started from the Progress Explorer. The message does not appear when the broker is started from proenv.
EXPLANATION:
The error is due to the DLC environment variable pointing to another Progress version (such as version 8) in the Windows System variables.
SOLUTION:
Modify the DLC environment variable to point to the correct Progress version and the ODBC connection should proceed normally.
