Oracle DataServer & Views
ORACLE & Views:
---------------
It is documented in the Version 6 Database Gateways Guide and the
DataServer for ORACLE Guide that only single table views are supported
In addition there is an ORACLE limitation that ORACLE ROWID cannot be
selected from an ORACLE view if that view uses an aggregate function.
What does that mean to PROGRESS 4-GL? No rows returned or an error msg
The PROGRESS DataServer for ORACLE uses ORACLE ROWID in the SQL passed
to ORACLE if the field progress_recid does not exist.
In PROGRESS Version 7.3B and later, one may use SEND SQL statements
using progress_recid field to work around this limitation, however the
aggregate function constraint still remains.
