SUMMARY:
A Progress 9.1B install on NT 4.0 SP6a could hang following an MDAC (Microsoft Data Access Components) initialization message. No other errors are registered. Rebooting the system, with the partial install, then results in a Microsoft error:
OLEMAINTHREADWNDNAME: ....
SOLUTION:
1) Remove the partial install of 9.1B.
2) Download MDAC version 2.5 from Microsoft's website:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?ReleaseID=18822&area=search&ordinal=13
3) Install MDAC.
4) Install Progress 9.1B.
NOTE: Testing of earlier MDAC versions, 2.1XXX and 2.2XXX showed similar failures, while version 2.5 corrected the install problem.
