SYMPTOM(s):
Getting Dr. Watson when starting Admin Service
jre.exe executable is crashing
Using JDK / JRE 1.1.8 java runtime
CAUSE:
Problems in the JRE when JIT compiler is enabled
FIX:
Progress Software recomends to upgrade to Progress Version to 9.1C or later to solve this issue.
If upgrading is not an option, find below a workaround :
Disable the jit compiler by specifying for
"JVMARGS"="-ms1m -nojit"
within
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PSC\PROGRESS\9.1B\JAVA]
or
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PSC\PROGRESS\9.1B\JAVA]
