CAUSE:
This is a problem with libsocket on SCO/Caldera Unixware 7.1.1 running Java 1.2.2 and Java 1.3 VM.
FIX:
Get the libsocket fix from Caldera.
The fix is contained in UNIXware 7.1.1 maintenance pack 1
