SUMMARY:

When connecting to the AdminServer from a remote machine with
a Domain user account, you might run into the following error:

Invalid username and/or password specification. (9173)

This Knowledge Base Solution provides a simple workaround in case you
experience error 9173.

EXPLANATION:

In order for a user to establish a remote AdminServer connection via
the Progress Explorer tool, the user MUST have Administrative
privileges on the Server that the AdminServer resides on. In some
instances, users have not been able to connect to AdminServer, even
though the Domain user has Administrative privileges for the Server
that the AdminServer resides on.

SOLUTION:

A simple solution for this is to create the user account on the Server that the AdminServer resides on, grant Administrative privileges to the account, and than add the user account to the Domain.
