Error messages 515 2226 2227 in version 6.3 or 7.2
On some the following platforms:
* SCO unix with Progress version 6.3E03
* SCO unix with Progress version 7.2D
* Interactive Unix V.3 with Progress version 6.3E03
starting a Progress broker, utility or single user session will
receive the following error messages:
File /usr1/users/ts/veasy/demo72.db is on a remote system (2226)
Database integrity CANNOT be guaranteed for this session. (2227)
** This session is running with the non-raw (-r) parameter. (515)
if NFS is not loaded, or the if the files are located on a remote
system. PLEASE note this is only with 6.3E03 and 7.2D on the above
platforms.
These platforms are patched. 6.3E10 and above and 7.2D02 and above
are the patches available for SCO. Interactive patch 6.3E05 will
correct the problem.
The customer is running in a compromised state, as if running with -r.
If they crash they may have corruption that can only be fixed with
a dump and load.
If you are truly running with the database NFS mounted then these mess
ages should not be ignored. Progress does not support NFS mounting
database files.
You can determine the filesystem type on SCO by typing the following.
$ su <-- you need to be root
$ fstyp /dev/usr2 <-- use the device, not the mount point.
EAFS
$
NOTE: This error was reported on SCO Open Server 5 even after the
patch was applied. To determine which SCO release is installed, type
the following.
$ uname -X
System = newalr
Node = newalr
Release = 3.2v4.2 <-- this would read 3.2v5.0 for Open Server 5
KernelID = 93/04/28
Machine = i80486
BusType = EISA
Serial = 2AE001942
Users = unlim
OEM# = 0
Origin# = 1
NumCPU = 2
Modified 9/12/95
