GOAL:
Where can the default files which were installed with Progress, be located?
FIX:
If the message:'Message file may be corrupted' is received or if one of the default files (promsgs, startup.pf, empty databases (in various block sizes), etc.) which were installed with Progress are suspected to be corrupted, another copy of the file needs to be located.
The files can be obtained either from media or via your current installation.
Copies of these files are placed in the installation directory.
Additional copies are placed in the appropriate National Language Support directory that was selected as part of the installation process. During the installation, all languages selected to be install will result in the creation of one or more subdirectories in $DLC/prolang.
Listing of supported languages (subdirectories):
Arabic (ARB) Korean (KOR)
Chinese-Simplified (SCH) Lithuanian (LIT)
Chinese-Traditional (TCH) Macedonian (MKD)
Croatian (HRV) Norwegian (NOR)
Czech CZE) Polish (POL)
Danish (DAN) Portuguese (POR)
Dutch (DUT) Portuguese-Brazilian (BRZ)
English-American (AME) Romanian (ROM)
English-International (ENG) Russian (RUS)
Finnish (FIN) Serbian (SRB)
French (FRE) Slovak (SVK)
German (GER) Spanish (SPA)
Greek (GRE) Spanish-Latin American (SPL)
Hebrew (HBR) Spanish-Mexican (MEX)
Hungarian (HUN) Swedish (SWE)
Icelandic (ISL) Thai (TAI)
Italian (ITA) Turkish (TUR)
Japanese (JPN)
Example:
If English-American (AME) language was installed the pathname would be: $DLC/prolang/ame. A listing of this directory would contain the following files:
ame1252.df empty.d1 empty1.db empty4.b1 empty8.d1 promsgs.ame ame850.df empty.db empty2.b1 empty4.d1 empty8.db startup.pf ame88591.df empty1.b1 empty2.d1 empty4.db engcan.pf empty.b1 empty1.d1 empty2.db empty8.b1 engus.pf
If the promsgs file is corrupted and English-American language was installed, promsgs.ame can be copied to $DLC/promsgs. The same holds true for other files within this directory.
