FIX:
Binary Dump and Load provide the fastest way to dump and load the database within two steps. However, the new loaded database can be available within a shorter time than the dump/load if additional steps are implemented for minimizing the downtime.
The "SmartNews" February 2000 edition describes a useful strategy based on incremental dump and load; a strategy whereby static and dynamic data are processed differently. Implemented and executed by Progress Consulting Services, this strategy concerned a Progress Version 8.2B 18Gb Database migrated to a Version 9.0B database, and a shift in Operating System as well.
