FIX:
There are two ways to independently install a WebSpeed Messenger. Either download and install the WebSpeed messenger through the Progress Electronic Software Download (ESD) site or use the standard installation method through CD.
Option 1:
Download the WebSpeed Messenger installation executable from Progress:
http://www.progress.com/esd/index.ssp
There will be a section called "Progress® Deployment Components" where "WebSpeed Messenger" is one of this suite. Only the messenger for the latest release can be found the Progress download site.
Find the table with the appropriate platform. Download the file and follow the instructions described on the page. Then use the Serial Number and Control Codes listed on the page.
Option 2
Install the WebSpeed Messenger from the CD. The serial number and control code from the web page can be used with the Progress / WebSpeed CD. This will also install just the standalone Messenger. The installation appears just as any other Progress software install.
Once the messenger is installed, configure the ubroker.properties file appropriately to reflect the distributed configuration.
