Solution ID: 21234
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
SYMPTOM(s):
Errors in log file.
Registry error : Could not register '' events with the Event Viewer. (5179)
Event Logger error : Could not post a '' event to the Event Viewer. (5180)
CAUSE:
The Systems Event Viewer log files are full. When using ProControl, any database configured to be launched by ProControl will have the majority of the information that's written to the database log file, also copied to the Event Viewer log.
This can cause the rapid growth of the Event Viewer log file.
FIX:
Empty the log file or increase it's capacity.
On NT go to Start > Programs > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer.
Then either; go to Log > Clear All Events to empty the log file, or
select Log > Log Settings to increase the maximum size of the log file.
