Menu: Environment > Updates > Customize > Advanced stages
Use this screen to select the 4GL connection settings for the console stages. To know more about registering this configuration, see 'Managing the Environment' in the Related Topics below.
By default, all stages are set to use the 'Default' connection. If you want to use other settings for certain stages, check the option you want.
For the Verification stages, use the connection data set previously, then select the 'Use VERIFICATION connection' option.
For the Settings stages, use the connection data configured previously to import preparation and correction settings, then select the 'Use SETTINGS connection' option.
For the Data Update stages, use the connection data set previously, then select the 'Use UPDATE connection' option.
Note that when you select the connections, the list of stages changes the type of connection type to what was set before.
The Update Console allows you to run a script before certain stages. This script runs in the server where the console is used or in the Progress application server, if the stage is set to do so. The script (.bat, for example) has instructions from the operating system and is executed, and the console does not validate the return of this script. To set up this script, select the stage in the list and enter the full path and the name of the script in the 'Pre-stage script' field.
The 'Simultaneous Sessions' option is used in Oracle environments, and determines the number of sessions used to import SQL Scripts in the Dictionary Preparation and Dictionary Correction stages. This option is disabled for environments with Progress database.
