The Logs Generic Importer is a Console plug-in that helps viewing the errors and warnings occurred during the Data Check stage of some packages, such as Concepts Unification - Phase 1 (Cutoff Period and History Adjustment) and the EMS5 - International package. Use this plug-in to import log files created while running the Console. Depending on the situation that has occurred, you may be directed to the e-Consultant portal, which has information on how to solve the problem. You can export the information presented by the tool to a .csv file. In some cases, such as a lack of account translations (Concepts Unification), the file is created in the import model of the default product.
The Generic Logs Importer is an evolution of the Logs Importer plug-in of Concepts Unification released since the Datasul product release 11.5.4. As the EMS5 - International package requires its use, the plug-in was adapted as a more generic tool. This tool is available from release 12.1.4 of the Datasul product onwards.
Access the Generic Log Importer plug-in through the Product Environment Management Console.
When you open the Console, at the top left corner, find the access to the Plug-ins. For a new one, click 'Get new plug-in' and select the importador-gen-log plug-in.
Update procedures:
1. 'Packages available for import': select the package to which the logs to be imported belong. Your choice of package may change how you view the information. You can only start the import process after selecting this information.
2. 'Help' button: directs to the location of plug-in documentation.
3. 'Exit' button: closes the plug-in.
4. 'Enter the log directory of the package selected': in this field, enter the directory where the logs of the package selected are located in 'Packages available for import'.
5. 'Import Logs' button: this button starts the logs import process. An import feedback is given and you may cancel the import process, if needed.
6. 'Clear' button: use this feature to clear the information imported.
7. 'Occurred Situations' browser: this browser presents the codes of all errors and warnings found in the logs. The following information is displayed: message number, number of times the situation has occurred and the type (Warning or Error). In addition, each type has a specific highlight color.
Red: ERROR
Yellow: WARNING
8. 'Situation Parameters' browser: the same error or warning may occur several times with different parameters. In this browser, depending on the error or warning selected in the 'Occurred Situations' browser, a row is displayed for each different set of parameters.
9. 'Export' button of 'Situation Parameters' browser: enables exporting the information from the 'Situation Parameters' browser to a .csv file. For some situations, such as error 2012 (Account Translation) or 2029 (Cost Center Translation), the information exported is in the default file format to import to the default product.
10. 'Select All' button of 'Situation Parameters' browser: enables the automatic selection of all 'Situation Parameters' browser rows. When you select the 'Concept Unification (Cutoff Period/History Adjustment)' package, in accordance with the selection of this browser, the records with that given status are displayed in the 'Records Occurred in the Situation' browser.
11. 'Package Specific': when no package is selected in the plug-in, find below the browsers 'Situations Occurred' and 'Situation Parameters' an area dedicated to displaying package specific information. For example, when you select the 'Concept Unification (Cutoff Period/History Adjustment)' package, this area presents a browser that displays the records with the specific situation selected.
Browser “Records Occurred in the Situation": reveals the records that occurred in a given situation. It opens only when you select the 'Concept Unification (Cutoff Period/History Adjustment)' package. This browser displays such important information as the record rowID, fields used and values.
12. 'Export' button of the 'Records Occurred in the Situation' browser: enables the export of information from the 'Records Occurred in the Situation' browser to a .csv file.
13. 'Situation Description': in accordance with the situation and parameters selected, this field shows the description of the message (the same found in the Console log file).
14. 'e-Consultant Portal Query': click this button to access the e-Consultant portal, where the error occurred will be selected, showing the Kbases available for the situation. These Kbases are topics to help you correct the situation.
