SUMMARY:

To improve their functionality, the 9.1B20 patch introduced changes to the way the Cancel and Reset buttons work on Smart Toolbars and Smart Update Panels. This Knowledge Base Solution describes the correct behavior.

EXPLANATION:

After installing patch 9.1B20, several customers reported to Technical Support that there is a bug with the Cancel button not being enabled when it should be on both Smart Toolbars and Smart Update Panels.

This is not a bug. The 9.1B20 patch introduces a correction to the earlier behavior of the Reset and Cancel buttons. Prior to 9.1B20, if you used the Reset button to get rid of any of your changes, you still had to press the Cancel button to be able to return to navigate mode again.

This behavior has been fixed so that now if you press the Reset button, not only are any changes reset but also the mode is returned to the mode that preceded the changes. The Cancel is now only used to cancel out of Adds and Copies (and update if you are using tableio in update mode). Also now the Reset button is only enabled if there is something to reset, and the Cancel button is only enabled if there is something to cancel.
