SUMMARY:
This Solution applies to Progress SonicMQ Versions 2000.x and 3.x.
A common misconception is that the Admin shell command "show topics"
can be used to display a list of topics currently in use by connected
clients or disconnected durable subscribers on a message broker.
If security has not been enabled on the broker, attempts to use this
command result in the following error:
Error: Either the broker does not have security enabled
or you do not have authorization for the attempted operation.
EXPLANATION:
A topic need not be created on the broker to be used by a client, so
there is currently no way to return a list of any, or all such topics.
The "show topics" command is used to display a list of topics for
which a Quality of Protection (QoP) has been set, and so only applies
to security-enabled brokers.
