SYMPTOM(s):
Background color is a different shade of gray on Windows 2000
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows 2000
CAUSE:
The problem originates in the default settings for Windows 2000, which differ from those in Windows 95, 98, and NT. These previous Windows versions display the screen colors correctly.
FIX:
To correct the Windows 2000 behavior, follow these steps:
1) Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Display > Appearance.
2) Instead of "Windows Standard", select "Windows Classic" from the dropdown menu Scheme.
3) Choose Apply.
The screen colors should now be exactly the same as on Windows 95, Windows 98 and Windows NT.
