GOAL:
How to use ProTools Help in Microsoft Office 2000.
FACT(s) (Environment):
Microsoft Office 2000
Windows 32 Intel
CAUSE:
Progress Bug. The ProTools help editor can only open .hlp files, thus when you access the help menu, ProTools is looking for files with a .hlp extension. Office 2000, however, uses compiled html files (.chm) for help.
FIX:
When you press F1 to access help, a dialog box will open showing the name of the help file that it cannot open. This will appear as a .chm file. If you find this file using Windows Explorer and double click on it, you should then be able to open the appropriate help file.
