SUMMARY:Unable to run pro or mpro commands on HP-UX 64-bit machine running Progress Versoin 9.1B. Getting many errors similar to the two listed below:
/usr/lib/dld.sl unresolved symble__head[data]from /usr/lib/libC.2
/usr/lib/dld.sl unresolved module symble__shlinit[code]from /usr/lib/libstream.2
EXPLANATION:
Customer had just installed the latest patches from HP on their 64-bit host. After installing the HP patches they could not run the Pro or MPro commands in Progress Version 9.1B without getting the following errors:
/usr/lib/dld.sl unresolved symble__head[data]from /usr/lib/libC.2
/usr/lib/dld.sl unresolved module symble__shlinit[code]from /usr/lib/libstream.2
SOLUTION:
Uninstall the newer Patch PHSS_22543 and use the older patch PHSS_21906
Patch PHSS_21906 is the patch recommended by Progress and reverting back to the older patch resolved the customers problems.
