GOAL:

What is Progress support for NFS

FACT(s) (Environment):

UNIX
Progress 9.1C
Progress 9.1D
Progress 9.1E
OpenEdge 10.x

FIX:

Progress 9.1C has removed the limitation prohibiting the use of NFS, allowing the use of NFS-mounted storage solutions for storing database files. This applies to all platforms EXCEPT Linux on this version of Progress
On Progress 9.1E01 the limitation prohibiting the use of NFS was removed from Linux platform as well. Now database files can be stored in NFS-mounted storage solutions running on Linux
Please check the solution P101496, "Progress 9.1E support for NFS on Linux?" for more information about the minimum requirements.
Progress does not certify, support, or recommend specific third-party storage products. It is recommended that new storage solutions are tested thoroughly to ensure the products are reliable.
