Error starting multiple AppServers on DG/UX
Error:
S-0048>Server exec error : Too many open files (8109)
Error:
S-0048>Error: cannot start server (8100)
CAUSE:
A system/kernel limitation is preventing the AppServers from spawning and remaining alive. Increase the values of the SDESLIM and HDESLIM parameters
FIX:
The parameters that can be adjusted are SDESLIM and HDESLIM. These are not normally manually configured. They do not appear in the list of tunable parameters. In "sysadm" it is possible to get the Kernel tuning section. During this process it opens a text file that can be edited. Add the following (values are suggestions only):
SDESLIM 256
HDESLIM 2048
The default values are:
SDESLIM 64
HDESLIM 256
