Recommended SPX timeout parameters for Novell Clients

If using ODI (open datalink interface) you need to edit or create the
NET.CFG file. In this file you need to have the lines:
CLIENT: SPX ABORT TIMEOUT = 2160
SPX LISTEN TIMEOUT = 432
VERIFY TIMEOUT = 216
SERVER: LOAD SPXCONFG A=2160 W=432 V=216

If using IPX.COM you need to edit or create the SHELL.CFG:
CLIENT: SPX ABORT TIMEOUT = 2160
SPX LISTEN TIMEOUT = 432
VERIFY TIMEOUT = 216
SERVER: LOAD SPXCONFG A=2160 W=432 V=216

If using Windows95 clients you will need to have the 32bit Client for
Novell NetWare installed. From Control Panel Select Networks, then
IPX 32-bit Protocol for Novell NetWare Client 32, then click on
Properties, then SPX. Modify the following setting.
SPX ABORT TIMEOUT = 2160
SPX LISTEM TIMEOUT = 432
SPX VERIFY TIMEOUT = 216
SERVER: LOAD SPXCONFG A=2160 W=432 V=216

The settings above are recommendations only. These timeout settings
may need to be increased depending on the traffic on your network.
If send/receive errors persist, increase the VERIFY TIMEOUT, set the
SPX LISTEN TIMEOUT to two times the VERIFY TIMEOUT setting and set
set the SPX ABORT TIMEOUT to ten times the VERIFY TIMEOUT setting.
