GOAL:
The shift-up characters may be displayed when the CAPS LOCK key is invoked
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.1x
Windows 32 Intel
CAUSE:
The Progress Character Client (_progres.exe) was NOT completely installed
FIX:
To get the PC key mappings to work correctly with the Character Client (_progres.exe):
For Example:
hello 12345678 (CAPS LOCK OFF)
HELLO !@#$%^&* (CAPS LOCK ON)
1) Confirm that a "COMPLETE" installation of the 9.1x Character Client (NOT a "TYPICAL" installation) or be sure to perform a "CUSTOM" installation of the 9.1x Character Client and select the following four options:
1.1) Character Database Admin Tools - Optional
1.2) Character Base Tools - Optional
1.3) Character Image - Dev - Optional
1.4) Character Runtime Client-Dev - Optional
Optional component 1.3 installs the file "PROKEY32.DLL", which is required for proper operation of the Progress Character Client(_progres.exe).
