SUMMARY:
This solution applies to SonicMQ Bridges Versions 3.1 and 3.2, and
explains where to find the serial number for each installed product
from this release. When contacting Technical Support regarding any
of the products in this release, users should always supply the
serial number of the product (SonicMQ Bridge or Messaging JavaBean)
in question.
SOLUTION:
SonicMQ Bridges allow messages originating from SonicMQ clients to
reach destinations outside of SonicMQ, and allow messages originating
from sources outside of SonicMQ to reach SonicMQ clients.
Version 3.2 includes the following products:
- SonicMQ Bridge for IBM MQSeries
- SonicMQ Bridge for JMS
- SonicMQ Bridge for Mail
- SonicMQ Bridge for FTP
- SonicMQ Messaging JavaBean
- SonicMQ Bridge for TIB/Rendezvous (new in 3.2)
The release number, a list installed products from this release, and
the serial number for each of these products can be found in the
product.properties file which resides in the SonicMQ Bridges
installation directory.
The serial number for each product is the value of the property
feature.<product name>.serialnumber. For example, the serial number
for the SonicMQ Bridge for IBM MQSeries is the value of the property
feature.mqseriesbridge.serialnumber.
Please note that if you install additional bridges into the same
directory as an existing Bridges installation, the resulting
product.properties file will contain information pertaining only to
the newly installed products. You should therefore follow the
recommendation in SonicMQ Bridges 3.2 Release Note 2799: if you wish
to install additional products from this release into the same
directory as an existing installation, you should install all the
products installed previously as well as the additional products.
The serial number for each bridge also appears on the green sheet
which accompanies the SonicMQ Bridges media.
SonicMQ Bridges 3.1 was the first commercial Bridges release.
Version 3.0 did not include a product.properties file.
