Unisys 5000/8x 9x - file corruption problems
900216-wlb02 Unisys 5000/8x 9x - file corruption - Whats the problem.
Just thought I'd give you all an update on the age old Unisys
5000/8x 9x disk I/O problems. It appears that the corruption that we
have seen on these machines is related to the EDT controlers. If the
user has an EDT controler in any slot of his machine and it is
revision B8 or lower it may cause db or bi corruption. The EDT
controler does not even need to be controling the drive that has the
Progress files on it for it to cause corruption in those files (I know
that is strange but true).
This information is the result of testing that has gone on at the
Salt Lake City, Utah branch of Unisys. As we hear more we will let
you know.
