SYMPTOM(s):
** Unable to open file: <file-name>. Errno=<number>. (98)
Running shared application over mapped network drive
CAUSE:
The rbrun.out file shows the report status information. It resides in the current directory. The rbrun.out file resides in the "start in" directory defined in the properties of GUI Progress Icon,.
If the "start in" directory points to a mapped network drive, the file is generated on the network drive and no other user can run a report until the file is released for the first user that generated it. It is here that the Error (98) can appear.
FIX:
The solution is to have a local working directory for each remote client. That directory is set in the "start in" information of the icon. This means that every user that shares the report application has their own local working directory, and therefore their own rbrun.out file.
