SYMPTOM(s):
Errors are encountered when starting the Progress installation utility, Proinst, on IBM AIX.
exec(): 0509-036 Cannot load program cdrom/_ovrly
because of the following errors:
0509-027 Member shr_comm.o is not found or file is not an archive.
0509-027 Member shr_comm.o is not found or file is not an archive.
0509-022 Cannot load library libpthreads.a[shr_comm.o].
0509-026 System error: A file or directory in the path name does not exist.
CAUSE:
The component/member specified on the message (shr_comm.o) is only available for AIX version 4.3 and higher. These errors occur on any IBM AIX machine prior to 4.3.
FIX:
Progress Version 9.1x requires AIX Version 4.3.2 with MUP-2. User should be on correct OS requirement outlined in the Progress Installation Guide.
