FACT(s) (Environment):

Windows 95

SYMPTOM(s):

Using 16-bit versions of Progress under Windows 95.

Sending data to a serial port using the OUTPUT TO statement.

OUTPUT TO does not send the right information.

CAUSE:

The OUTPUT TO statement might not send anything to the serial port after you move up to newer (32-bit) versions of Progress.

FIX:

Consider upgrading your operating system to Windows NT 4.0 (or Windows 2000). Doing so has resolved the problem for many Progress customers, and with no code changes.
