SYMPTOM(s):
Problems with Repainting Colors on Metaframe/Terminal Services
Sometimes the colors are not properly shown.
Frames are not entirely repainted.
Colors are not properly shown when moving a window.
Colors are not properly shown when changing the focus to a different window.
Flickering is pronounced when connecting through a low bandwidth (ISDN, modem or WAN).
FACT(s) (Environment):
Windows
Citrix MetaFrame
OpenEdge 10.x
CAUSE:
Progress currently supports 256-color bitmaps for buttons and images. Each 256-color bitmap has a list of palette entries associated with it.
When you display one of these bitmaps in a Progress window, the palette entries are appended to the existing Progress palette.
If your buttons or images have a large number of different colors, Progress switches between the palettes. This switching causes the window to be rendered incorrectly if it uses a different color palette and runs in the same window session.
FIX:
Use some graphic tool to create your graphic files with the same colors that can fit the 256 color palette. Take into account that the first 16 colors reserved by Progress.
