SUMMARY:
It is possible to receive the following error message when you generate an ActiveX proxy:
The file: prostub.dll which is needed to generate proxies cannot
be extracted from: progress.zip. (7277)
EXPLANATION:
This error message is caused by ProxyGen not being able to overwrite an existing copy of the proxy dll on disk. The possible reasons for the error are as follows:
- The DLL is marked as read-only.
- The DLL is currently in use.
Solution: Try exiting whatever application is using the
proxy, and then restart the generation process.
This error may also be seen if using 9.1c patch 04 as the file prostub.dll was not included in the proxygen.zip file. Please note that patch 05 solves this problem.
