Status: Unverified
FACT(s) (Environment):
Webspeed 3.x
Windows NT 32 Intel/Windows 2000
SYMPTOM(s):
msgOpen: unable to open message file:
(WebSpeed error from WebSpeed NSAPI Messenger (WSNSA))
msgOpen: unable to open message file:
(error code is 0.)
CAUSE:
The messenger needs to access Registry keys that are created by the Progress installation. However, it seems that these files cannot be accessed.
These Registry keys are under
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PSC\PROGRESS\9.XX (where XX is the Progress version.)
FIX:
Do the following:
1. Run the Windows NT Registry Editor (regedt32).
2. Check the Progress installation directory / files permissions.
Make sure that both show the user that is used by the Web server and that permissions are correct.
