SYMPTOM(s):
Error 1617: Backup terminated due to errors. (1617)
Error 4232: Corrupt block detected when attempting to release a buffer. (4232)
Error 762: SYSTEM ERROR: bkaddr called with negative blkaddr: <number> (762)
This solution describes a situation where the following error appears if you try to run more than one session of an online backup with a multi-volume Progress database running with the after-image (AI) file enabled:
SYSTEM ERROR: txe already stopped
CAUSE:
Run more than one session of online backup at the same time in a database that has AI enabled.
FIX:
- check backup script for any duplicate entries of the backup command.
- check whether the backup script is duplicated on the scheduler application that starts the backup operation.
