FACT(s) (Environment):
HP-UX 11
UNIX
SYMPTOM(s):
Temp files filling up the ROOT file system
CAUSE:
If the database server temp files fill up the root file system, check to see if the ROOT user started the Database server. If it did, the temp files will be written to the root file system. The -T startup aprameter is then ignored by the UNIX O/S.
FIX:
To resolve the problem, create another user to start the database. The temp files will now go into that user's directory or a directory specified by the -T startup parameter. The -t may also be used to make the files visible.
