SYMPTOM(s):
User is not able to select nor highlight remote files in order to bring the file name down to the FILE NAME option box within the Progress AppBuilder.
User is able to see all remote files
CAUSE:
When you install any component of WebSpeed (Provision Plus, Webspeed Workshop), the AppBuilder allows you switch between two options:
- Remote development
Allows you to see files on another machine using your WebSpeed broker.
Upon selecting remote development from the AppBuider, the Microsoft List View is implemented.
- Local development
Allows you to see files on your local machine.
During the Progress installation, two files; COMCTL32.OCX and COMCAT.DLL are installed that are related to the Microsoft Field List. These files can easily be overwritten or not installed if there are complications with the installation or other software already installed on the machine. The client machine may either be running an older version of these files (listed) or not have the files present on the system.
FIX:
If there are versions of these files on the client machine that are older than the ones shown below, copy the files in your Progress \bin\system directory to system or system32 in your Windows directory. Remember to register them using regsvr32 <filename> from the command line or Run command.
