Solution ID: 20400
FACT(s) (Environment):
UNIX V4
Caldera Open UNIX/SCO UnixWare
DG/UX Intel
SYMPTOM(s):
File size limit exceeded. (3697)
All database changes are being done by the database administrator, not the system administrator.
The UNIX permissions of the Progress executables are 777 or RWXRWXRWX, with the permission set for the system administrator.
Database is moved to a new hardware suite and/or operating system.
CAUSE:
By changing the unix permission, the SETUID bit is turned off. Progress requires the SETUID on, so that certain operating system parameters can be overridden (i.e., ULIMIT).
FIX:
Turn on the SETUID bit.
