Status: Unverified
FACT(s) (Environment):
Progress 9.x
Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows ME
Windows 2000
Windows NT
SYMPTOM(s):
Error 1325 occurs running conv89.
Unable to read structure block, errno = <error code>. (1325)
CAUSE:
This error is caused by trying to convert a Personal or Single User database originally created on a version of windows with a default block size of 512 bytes (Windows 95, 98, and ME) to one running a 4k block size (NT, 2000, XP). 512 bytes is not a valid block size for a database running on an NT based system. Therefore, the conv89 utility cannot be applied.
FIX:
1) Create a new Progress database on the NT based system.
2) Dump the data defintions(.df) and the data (.d) of your Progress 512 byte database.
3) Load data definitions and data into newly created 9.x database.
