GOAL:
How to Obtain Progress WebClient?
FIX:
There are three ways in which you can obtain WebClient:
1) Progress CD (developer).
a) For Progress 9.1B:
- Copy webinst.exe from the Progress CD to a PC.
- Run webinst.exe.
This installs the WebClient install files so that the files can be used to set up the WebClient application.
b) For Progress 9.1C:
- The files are located under the directory WEBINSTALL\webclient on the CD.
- Copy the files from the previous step to where ever they are needed:
- Web_image directory -> Web server
- Win_image directory -> developer's CD
- Source directory only 9.1B) -> developer's development Machine
2) Progress WebClient only CD (End User).
WebClient can be installed from a CD if the internet connection is very slow. The ISV could also send the CD so that the set up time to start using WebClient applications is much faster.
3) Progress Web site (End User).

WebClient is installed from the Progress website if the ISV does not provide a downloadable version of the WebClient.
The ISV can direct clients to the Progress Web site and save them maintenance costs by not hosting the install.
