Progress 9.1x is UTF8 or UNICODE code page compatible as long as that code page is enabled on the system.
Progress has modified its core operating environment so that both multibyte and single byte character sets can be accommodated in the same environment. The customer who wants to use multibyte enabled operation as well as single byte capabilities can do so without having to create a special multibyte environment.
