Kbase 20198: SonicMQ JMS Provider: Broker vs Server
Autor   Progress Software Corporation - Progress

SUMMARY:

This solution applies to Progress SonicMQ and discusses a change in terminology between versions 2000.x and 3.0.

EXPLANATION:

In SonicMQ Version 2000.x, the JMS provider was called the "message broker" or just the "broker." In version 3.0, the JMS provider is known as the "server." It provides the same functionality as does the 2000.x broker, plus additional functionality added in the new release.

The name of the broker.ini file has not changed, nor have the names of any parameters such as BROKER_NAME, BROKER_PASSWORD, and ENABLE_INTERBROKER contained in that file which incorporate the term "broker."

Admin shell commands which include the word "broker" also remain unchanged in version 3.0.
