SUMMARY:
This solution applies to Progress SonicMQ Version 2000.x. Set the
SONICMQ_DBCLASS variable in startbr.bat (.sh), not the broker.ini file when you use a broker database other than the default Cloudscape database (such as ORACLE or MSSQL server).
EXPLANATION:
The Progress SonicMQ Installation and Administration Guide instructs
you to "set the SONICMQ_DBCLASS property." The documentation implies that you set SONICMQ_DBCLASS in the broker.ini file. In fact, SONICMQ_DBCLASS is an environment variable that must be set in startbr.bat (on WindowsNT) or in startbr.sh (UNIX).
On page 42 of the guide, following the description of the JDBC_DRIVER property, it should be noted that the SONICMQ_DBCLASS environment variable must be set whenever the JDBC_DRIVER is given a non-default setting.
