SUMMARY:
The Progress Version 9.1A Installation Guide indicates that you can download the Data General Java Development Kit (JDK) from the URL:
http://www-csc.dg.com
This is no longer true. Data General has moved the 1.1.7.1 JDK and
the associated patches to an FTP site.
SOLUTION:
To download the Data General JDK, follow these steps:
1) ftp 128.222.1.2
Username: java
Password: java4dg
2) cd deliver
The JDK is in the file jdk_1.1.7.1.tar.gz. The current
patches are:
jdk_117_p01.tar.gz
jdk_117_p02.tar.gz
jdk_117_p03.tar.gz
jdk_117_p04.tar.gz
jdk_117_p05.tar.gz
jdk_117_p06b.tar.gz
jdk_117_p07.tar.gz
These patches are not cumulative, so you should contact Data General
to determine which you should download.
NOTE: Additional patches might be released in the future. Use the FTP ls or dir commands to see what is available.
Use the gunzip utility to unzip the files. The JDK and it's patches can be installed with the sysadmin utility.
NOTE: Data General has given their permission to release this
information to the public. For JDK installation assistance and other DG/UX issues, contact Data General at 1-800-DG HELPS (344-3577)
