Error 196 appears in GUI procedure editor.
Error 196 appears during compile.
CHANGE:
Procedure was cut and pasted into the procedure editor.
CAUSE:
Although not visible in the Procedure Editor, part of the hidden control characters of the text editor used to write the procedure are present in the code.
FIX:
Use the Procedure Editor as your text editor.
